Hollywood Beach has been designated as a Blue Wave Clean Beach by The Clean Beaches Council. The designation recognizes the City of Hollywood's efforts to manage its public beach responsibly with a focus on protecting human health and the environment.

A certified clean beach is a Blue Wave designated beach that is managed responsibly, with a focus on protection of human health and the environment. Clean beaches are relatively free of litter, have handicap accessibility and public restroom facilities, clearly demonstrate to the public laws and information on the beach and its management, and have swimmable waters.
